Rouse has been invited to participate in the COP 22 on Climate Change in Morocco.
To prevent the most severe impacts of global warming, the international community has agreed to keep the average global temperature rise to below 2°C by 2100 (Paris Agreement, December 2015). The accelerating development of new low-carbon technologies like bio-energy, carbon capture and storage and the promotion of their global application are key challenges for stabilizing atmospheric greenhouse gas emissions. Innovations and technologies are at the core of current discussions surrounding the post-Paris Agreement climate regime.
Since 2014 we have been a member of the Technology Transfer Group established on Climate Changes. At the COP 21, which was held in Paris last year, we engaged in various consultations with public and private stakeholders on green tech transfers and financing mechanisms.
This year COP 22 will be held in Marrakech, Morocco from November 7-18, 2016. We have been invited to discuss with stakeholders and present the main achievements on climate change mitigation supported by innovation and technology transfers since the adoption of the Paris Agreement.
